Mountain West Financial, LLC was started in July of 2000. Dan Duncan, the founder and owner of Mountain West, embarked on his premium finance career in 1994 when he assisted in forming the first premium finance company headquartered in San Diego, California. Dan learned the premium finance business from the ground up by running all the day-to-day operations, which mainly entailed loan underwriting, marketing and a strong emphasis on customer service.
In July of 2000, Dan saw the need to establish a premium finance service that would provide the following:
- A service that will give added flexibility to assist customers with their specific wants and needs.
- A service that will assist the producers in retention of clientele.
- A service that will not be forced to reject business due to levels of risk, carrier capacity, high cancellation ratios, etc.
- A Service that is hands on and old fashion .
Dan looked to Adminovation Technologies, a technology firm out of Mesa, AZ, to assist with creation of a completely internet based premium finance management system that would provide automation uncommon to the premium finance industry. Mountain West currently uses this technology in conjunction with industry leading service, which is providing unparalleled results for the premium finance industry.
The Key to Mountain West's success is the employment of 3 philosophies:
- The best form of customer service is to have an experienced, live person answer the phone and deal with any issue immediately.
- If the policy cancels and does not remain in force, nobody wins.
- The use of real time, Internet based technology can be used to maximize automation and efficiency.
Mountain West practices these philosophies by employing a knowledgeable staff to assure that a live person answers the phone and the issue is dealt with immediately, no automated attendant. Also, Mountain West has a very aggressive cancellation prevention program, which has kept Mountain West's cancellation ratio at 5% or less.
